Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay was born September 15, 1915 was a native of Ogden Utah. Fawn, a member of the Mormon Church's oldest family, was able to combine her literary abilities and outstanding research skills into a brilliant biography on Joseph Smith. No Man Knew My History appeared in 1945. The title came from a funeral sermon given by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844, when he shocked those he addressed with the words: You don't know me you never knew my heart. Nobody knows my past. Truth is I'm not even sure. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn: Since this moment of honesty, more than three writers have taken up the battle. Certain writers have deified and even abused the man, and others have attempted to diagnose the issue. There isn't a problem the case that there's not enough documentation but rather they are wildly divergent. Assembling these documents - by sifting through third-party and first-hand sources and fitting the Mormons' stories to those of other people's historical context - can be a challenge. It's both thrilling and educational. FawnBrodie was able to take on this expert challenge. Thaddeus Stewards was the outcome of her research and writing, made her a world known author. The Devil drives (1959). The life of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974), and Richard Nixon.
